If you had an extra 5 hours a week to spend on your business, where would you invest the time?
I would spend time creating more processes for my own business (not just our clients), engaging with our followers on social media and creating content for our blog.
What is a goal that you have for your business?
My goal is to build and engage a following and help womxn in business make a ton of money, impact and create a ripple effect ultimately closing the gender wage gap (lofty, I know).
Give Us Your Wisdom
What will you always spend business budget on?
Professional development and leadership training. I love learning and it’s helpful for me to do that in a group environment because (1) it’s outside of my comfort zone and (2) I get to learn from others.
What is a piece of advice that you have received or read that has stuck with you throughout phases of your career?
Network, network, network. Because I’m an introvert, I avoided networking at all costs, but I soon learned that it didn’t matter if I was qualified for the job, leadership program, or board position if no one could vouch for me.
If you could save readers from one misstep, what would you share?
I thought that if I went to school, got my degrees, worked my way up, did all the right things, my work would speak for itself and my career would take off. Always advocate for yourself and go for what you want. Never forget that you are ultimately the one that is responsible for your own career trajectory.
Do you have an absolute favorite business tool or resource?
Microsoft Excel…anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE spreadsheets.
What is your personal favorite quote or life motto?
Don’t talk about, be about it.
Is there a pipe dream or bucket list item that you are willing to share?
To have a Prequal company retreat in Fiji.
What is the most significant/impactful purchase that you have made for under $100?
A wireless mouse. It changed the game.
Do you read or listen to anything on the regular?
Every morning I read a daily meditation from “Mediations for Women Who Do Too Much,” a daily devotional from “Jesus Calling,” the Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Morning 10, Politico, and the Daily Line.
What else should we know about you?
I love decorating my home, event planning and cooking and baking all things gluten and dairy free.
