Building Prequal: A Newsletter About Building a Business | Edition 01

Hi there,

Welcome to Building Prequal, a newsletter about my experience building my business in real time. A space where I will share stories, embrace transparency, and maybe, make entrepreneurship feel a little less lonely and a little more entertaining.

Why start a newsletter?

I have been swimming in an endless sea of resources since I decided to do my own thing – And I spotted a theme – every vantage point was in hindsight; What it took to build a business, lessons learned, curveballs thrown, etc. But I didn’t really find an authentic peek into building a company in real-time. I see immense value in sharing that.

So, I invite you to follow along for an inside look as I build my business in real-time.

It’s time for an introduction. Or a reintroduction if you’ve been around since the beginning of Prequal.

If you don’t know, I founded Prequal during the panic-inducing early days of the pandemic, but I don’t want to dwell on that. We’ve all got pandemic PTSD at this point, right? 

Let’s talk about now. 

2023 is the year Prequal found her footing, her team, and a message we’re ready to shout from the rooftops. We know where we want to go, and we want you to come along with us. Why?

We want women to make more money. 

Prequal is in the business of helping female founders, freelancers, and service professionals make more money. We do that through sales training and coaching.

Why sales?

When women have the knowledge and skills to sell effectively (no sleazy bro-marketing tactics necessary), they can increase their income, generate new business opportunities, and, most importantly, become economically empowered.

That’s the goal. That’s the message we’re spreading.

BUT... our message is still a mere whisper in the shouting match that is on social media, so we plan to use this newsletter to give you a peek behind the curtain.

We’re not a new business, but the audience we’re building, the services we now offer, and the courses we’re launching are still very new.

We are an open book and plan to give you the Prequal play-by-play: what’s working, what’s not, what milestones we’re hitting, and where we’re falling short. Basically, it’s the rollercoaster ride that is running and growing a business to a million dollars.

Speaking of, that’s our other goal. $1 million this year. Hold me to it.
