Tell us about your business/job/position:
Pies and cheesecakes are always made with love (and real butter) in our kitchen. The pastry cream in every pie is always made from scratch, with no skimping on any ingredients. Our pies have a chocolate-covered cookie crust you don’t find in many bakeries. Our cheesecake is simple, classic, and decadent. It will be the creamiest cheesecake you’ve ever had. At least that’s what my customers say. I simply want to serve by making people happy and for me, that’s with my pies.
Now do it in 6 words only please: Making people happy through their bellies.
If you had an extra 5 hours a week to spend on your business, where would you invest the time?
I would invest more time in marketing my products to continue building my customer base and continue making more people happy with my pies.
What is a goal that you have for your business?
Currently, I work my business as a Cottage Bakery. My goal is to become a brick-and-mortar business, where I can truly serve my customers and make pies all day every day.
Give Us Your Wisdom
What will you always spend business budget on?
The quality of my ingredients is very important to me, as well as packaging. What good is it for something to taste so good but look dreadful? My pies must be packaged with just as much care as I put into baking it.
What is a piece of advice that you have received or read that has stuck with you throughout phases of your career?
Do it afraid! No matter how much you may think some will judge you, criticize you or find your faults, it’s ultimately YOUR journey. Don’t allow the seeds of doubt to grow within you. We were created to thrive! Do it afraid. It doesn’t mean you won’t fail, but you are one step closer to success if you just keep trying.
If you could save readers from one misstep, what would you share?
You will not always be everyone’s cup of tea. Some will, some won’t, who’s next. We can’t please everyone. We can only do our best. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help. There are tons of resources. Don’t reinvent the wheel!
Connecting Personally
Do you have an absolute favorite business tool or resource?
WISE Membership on Facebook. It’s a paid membership hosted by the Women’s Institute of Self-development and Efficacy. Within this group, we brainstorm ideas, share resources, set weekly, monthly, and long-term goals, and are held accountable to achieve them. The vibe in there is awesome! It’s a group of real women all trying to become who they want to be all while helping each other along the way.
What is your personal favorite quote or life motto?
If we keep doing what we’re doing, we’re going to keep getting what we’re getting.
Is there a pipe dream or bucket list item that you are willing to share?
I’m still working a 9-5 job but I want to be my own boss one day. I want to be able to financially provide for my family without depending on someone else to determine my future finances.
What is the most significant/impactful purchase that you have made for under $100?
My Law of Attraction Planner.
Do you read or listen to anything on the regular?
I listen to Christian music daily. It helps me remember who’s in control and allows me to maintain an attitude of gratitude daily.
What else should we know about you?
I am a simple God-loving woman, living a simple life, learning how NOT to have simple dreams and goals anymore while trying to be a better me every day.
How can readers connect with you and follow your journey?
You can follow me on Facebook.
