BDavis Designs is a graphic, web and apparel firm that embraces healing, confidence and culture. We specialize in helping small business create brand identity for print and digital. We thrive on bringing a client’s dream to life.

Create dope branding for small businesses.

If you had an extra 5 hours a week to spend on your work, where would you invest the time?

I would study Art Therapy. It’s been a new interest of mine and pivotal to the next phase of BDavis Designs. So, for those 5 hours, I’d become a sponge and work on creating curriculum. 

What goals do you have for your business?

I plan to bring a Creative Health Hub to the south side of Chicago. One where the community can explore their artistic talent while healing from trauma in a safe and fun environment. 

What business task do you dread the most?

Bookkeeping and meetings. I prefer being in the background, focusing on project execution.

What will you always spend money on?

Training, software, stocks and tacos

What is a piece of advice that you received that has stuck with you throughout all phases of your career?

Even while scared, keep going and do so with passion and purpose. 

If you could save readers from one misstep, what advice would you share?

Get a mentor that cares about your success. There is no one more valuable than someone who has been there and can provide insight. I navigated by myself for 15 years and I felt stuck. I didn’t have a big picture goal until I connected with a mentor. I’ve made more progress in the last 3 years than the first 15. 

Do you have an absolute favorite business tool or resource? 

At one point it was Trello to manage projects. However, I’m visual and need to see progress as it happens. Soooo, I’ve pulled out a white board to manage tasks, daily. It has been the best thing for my sanity.

Faith Love + Creativity

Is there a pipe dream/bucket list item you are willing to share? 

I’d love to get a culinary degree then compete in sugar sculpting. It appears super complex but fun and rewarding.

Do you read or listen to anything on the regular?

Lately, I’ve been reading different topic devotionals and listening to meditation music. With 2020 behind us, I’ve been working on getting my chakras aligned and focus on my goals.

What else should we know about you?

I’m an artist. I’m an advocate for mental health.
